BioAxFlow
Our bioreactor BioAxFlow is a device where, with the help of an external peristaltic pump and tubes, cell culture medium is continuously pumped into a vessel from the bottom, lifting the cells up, accessing the vessel and, eventually, allowing cell seeding on the scaffold.
BioAxFlow’s user-friendly modular system consists of 4 main components:
The base that allows both medium entry and exit thus, generates fluid dynamics suitable for efficient cell culture within the bioreactor chamber;
The scaffold stand designed to accommodate constructs/scaffolds of different geometries and sizes, customisable by the client;
The glass cylinder, allowing for constant visual inspection of the content;
The cap is equipped with sampling ports for cell sampling and threaded supports for vent plugs.
A complete “plug and play” solution for tissue engineering, combining innovation, versatility, and ease of use.
BioAxFlow has been validated in laboratory operating conditions at the CNR, (National Research Council), the largest public research institution in Italy, and it’s now on its way to industrialization.
Our solution presents seven main innovative characteristics:
It can hold construct(s)/scaffold(s) of different geometries and dimensions. We design and produce customisable supports to hold constructs of different geometries.
It allows automated cell seeding via the utilization of simple control valves.
It achieves a homogeneous cell distribution.
Our solution, thanks to the generation of its sophisticated fluid dynamics, allows cells to be distributed homogeneously upon the scaffold.
Modular bioreactor system. Our system is modular and can incorporate more than a single fully integrated bioreactor, to perform multiple experiments in parallel.
Fully transparent vessel for optical investigations.
Suitable for suspension and anchorage-dependent cell culture.
